Career Background

Sarah started her career working as a volunteer for the YOT team in 2003 when her children were very young. In 2004 she began work in local authority residential children’s homes. She moved to the private sector in 2009 and worked her way up to become a registered manager by 2012. Sarah joined NWLCS at the very beginning in 2013 as service manager. 

 

What you like about working in leaving care

Working in leaving care provides immense job satisfaction because we can see results in a short space of time. Although extremely challenging at times the fast pace keeps the job exciting and working with older young people is extremely rewarding. 

 

What you like about working in leaving care

Sarah is passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives. Ensuring that they receive the support they need and that they are always treated fairly and have access to everything they need. Giving young people the best chance to make the first steps into independence is our priority. This is a key theme and value which is implemented across our management practice. Sarah is also passionate about supporting our staff team to develop the skills and knowledge to constantly progress and succeed to deliver the best possible service.
